Compared with stereo cameras or triangulation systems, ToF cameras are small in size and are not much different from the size of ordinary cameras. They are very suitable for occasions that require light and small cameras. ToF cameras can quickly calculate depth information in real time, reaching tens to 100fps; while binocular stereo cameras need to use complex correlation algorithms, and the processing speed is slow. ToF depth calculation is not affected by the grayscale and features of the object surface, and can be very accurate for three-dimensional detection; while the binocular stereo camera requires the target to have good feature changes, otherwise the depth calculation will not be possible.

The depth calculation accuracy of the ToF camera does not change with the distance, and can basically be stable at the cm level. This is very meaningful for some large-scale motion applications. These advantages make it easier to promote in the industry.
